Saving Our Country

My father, Richard C. Adams, Sr.(thinker & visionary)

Written in his own hand May 5, 2005 to his children and grandchildren so that may understand that something can be done.

A man of great vision, saw the coming of this depression and had some thoughts on what could be done to stop it. He also understood the dynamics of capitalism and why we can't vote ourselves out of trouble.

Our elected officials do not run the country, captains of industries do.
Lobbyist serve those captains and control our politicians with the money they require to get re-elected.

We have been told that international trade is essential for econimic growth and prosperty. Is this true, are you getting wealthier each year? There are those that live among us that do enjoy being in the upper five percent, but they are certainly not the labor class. Furthermore they are the same folks that have million dollar homes all over the world. Apparently, international trade works very nicely for some!

As we watch our balance of payments with other nations get out of control, we must know that this can not go on forever. A depression is in our future and I don't think it is far off.

So, how do we get out of this mess and bring back the American lifestyle we grew up with?

SIMPLY, THE CONSUMER RULES: Walmart is the biggest retailer in the country so we start there.

As consumers we inform Walmart that we will only shop in stores that have at least 50 % American made products. Every year we insist that they increase that number by 5 %

This will not be a quick fix but untill I hear a better idea, it may be the only fix.

The most dificut thing to do is to stand united against those that will try to dissuade us from such actions.
However if you want your children and grandchildren to have the life that we had, form a consumers group and inform Walmart that if they don't comply we will shop elseware.

The manufactures that fled this country in favor of cheap labor will have no choice but to return to this country and reverse the process.

Remember, this not going to be easy, there will be many sacrifices along the way, we will have to live without cheap imported goods for awhile, but we can have our country back in 10 years....If only we stick together!
